On the occasion of the ‘Ab in die Mitte’ initiative, supported by the Federal State NRW in 2006, Eva Hunte selected some streets and squares in Krefeld for her project ‘On the Spot’, in order to enrich them with her sculptural ideas.
This is only a small selection of a larger portfolio of 10 ideas in different locations.
One of the few Krefeld ruins not to have been rebuilt after the war.
Today there is a bistro here and the area where a sculpture was foreseen has now been reserved for an outdoor restaurant.
In the last year this parking area was developed into an attractive small city park, unfortunately without a sculpture. But what does not exist could well still happen.
